Empowering Communities Amidst Crisis

In partnership with Trilochan Netralaya (TN) since 2014, The Vision Mission (TVM) has been tirelessly working to uplift eye care in the region surrounding Sambalpur, Odisha. Now, amidst the global pandemic, our mission expands to provide critical Covid Care during these challenging times.

The purpose of our initiative is clear to stand in solidarity and support those impacted by the pandemic. We recognize the profound effects Covid-19 has had on individuals and communities worldwide, and we aim to alleviate some of the burdens faced by frontline workers and patients alike.

Supporting Covid Care Centers with Laboratory Services: TN, in collaboration with TVM, is establishing Covid Care Centers in and around Sambalpur. These centers aim to provide optimal care to moderately ill Covid-positive patients, reducing the mortality rate and easing the burden on ICUs. With bed strengths of 600 and 450 respectively, these centers play a crucial role in patient recovery

Through donor funds, we have procured vital medical equipment such as oxygen cylinders, monitors, PPE, and flow meters, ensuring the provision of quality care. Additionally, we are working on pandemic preparedness models for future waves and addressing the increased burden of vision impairment caused by the crisis.

Dear Donors and Friends. Thanks you so much for your unwavering support through difficult times. You have made a huge difference and we thank you! Over the last 2 months, we have worked with our partner Trilochan Netralaya to setup and manage Covid-Care Centres (CCCs) in and around Sambalpur, Odisha, India. The CCCs admitted 895 patients during this period. 712 patents were discharged; 161 patients were referred up for ICU treatment; 21 patients are presently in active care, and there was unfortunately 1 death. During this period, we procured the following using donor funds: - Oxygen Cylinders - BiPAP Monitors, VitalSign Monitor, Patient Monitor - PPE Gowns, Masks, Gloves - Flow Meters for O2 Concentrators Presently, CCC admission numbers have come down dramatically, and stay low for the moment. But we continue to monitor the situation. We are now working on: (1) Future Pandemic Preparedness: We are now working on a model for setting up a provisions that will help better manage covid patients if there is a third wave. (2) Alleviating vision impairment burden that has risen through the crisis We could not have done this without your support wishes and donations! We look forward to your continued support as we move into the next phase. Thank you!
