The Vision Mission's Compassionate Outreach in Myanmar

In February 2016, Dr. Jayant V Iyer, co-founder of The Vision Mission, embarked on a profound journey to Mandalay, Myanmar, alongside a dedicated Singhealth delegation. Together, they visited Mandalay Eye Hospital and the serene Sagaing Hills Monastery, embodying compassion in action.

Their journey extended to Kayin Chaung, a village near Yangon, where the Singapore government had helped establish a hospital. Here, The Vision Mission's collaboration began, working alongside the Singhealth delegation to review patients and ensure appropriate treatments. This partnership, initiated in the previous year, continues to flourish, with joint efforts from doctors at Yangon Eye Hospital.

Fast forward to May 2018, Dr. Jayant V Iyer and Dr. Chen Jianping embarked on a two-day scouting trip to Yangon, Myanmar. Their mission was to assess the existing setup led by Dr. Zaw Minn Din, envisioning future collaborations. They explored avenues for Continued Medical Education sessions and established a regular surgical team to enhance cataract surgeries.

The Vision Mission's journey in Myanmar epitomizes our commitment to compassionate healthcare. From Mandalay to Yangon, our collaborative efforts aim to bring healing and hope to communities in need.

Join us in our mission to extend compassionate healthcare. Together, we can create a brighter future for communities in Myanmar and beyond.
