Empowering Communities Through Vision Restoration
In the heart of Odisha, India, lies Sambalpur, a region battling curable blindness. Since 2014, The Vision Mission (TVM) has joined forces with Trilochan Netralaya (TN) under Project Netra. This initiative aims to combat blindness by conducting cataract surgeries and enhancing medical infrastructure in Western Odisha.
Over the past three years, our collaboration has flourished. Each year, we've sponsored 1000 free surgeries and assisted in various medical endeavors, from setting up Teleophthalmology to advancing diabetic retinopathy screening. In 2017, we doubled our commitment to 2000 surgeries and embarked on a transformative journey to Sambalpur.
Our trip encompassed a spectrum of activities, from medical education sessions in Bhubaneshwar to witnessing the inauguration of SBI Foundation's cataract blind-free project. We engaged in clinics, refined surgical protocols, and explored avenues for future collaboration with TN.
At TN's facilities, we marveled at their state-of-the-art equipment and witnessed the impact of our efforts firsthand. Through surgeries and consultations, we brought hope to countless individuals, empowering them with the gift of sight.
As we bid farewell to Sambalpur, we carry with us not only memories but also a renewed commitment to our partnership. Together, we envision a future where blindness is no longer a barrier to a fulfilling life, and where every individual has access to quality eye care.
Join us in our mission to restore vision and transform lives. Support Project Netra and be a part of the journey towards a brighter future.
SPECIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT : TVM is also grateful to the Marcus Lim Humanitarian Fund (administered by Singapore National Eye Centre) for funding and support.
