Extending Vision: A Journey of Compassion in Rural China

In July 2015, Dr. Jayant V Iyer, co-founder of The Vision Mission, embarked on a heartfelt journey as he joined a team of volunteer consultants for Lifeline Express China. Their mission was to enhance eye care services in suburban and rural areas of China, where access to such care is often limited. Dr. Jayant's dedication led him to Yangjiang city Eye Hospital, where he witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by communities in accessing essential eye care services.

During his visit, Dr. Jayant explored opportunities to initiate a diabetic screening program, recognizing the critical need to address this growing health concern. Collaborating closely with Lifeline Express China, he aimed to bring about sustainable solutions to improve eye health in China's underserved regions.
