Healthcare Humanity Awards 2020 awarded to Dr Jayant V Iyer

Dec 2020

Dr Jayant was awarded the Singapore Courage Fund Healthcare Humanity Awards 2020 by President Halimah Yacob.

"As evident in recent events, I am astutely aware that I am only able to render such services to those in need locally and globally because of the amazing ecosystem of support my team and I have through my family, friends and colleagues.

As such, I receive this award humbly on behalf of my amazing team of The Vision Mission (TVM) volunteers, co-directors, family, colleagues (SNEC and beyond) and friends who have been overtly and covertly supportive and our partners in Singapore and various parts of the world (India, China, Myanmar, Vietnam, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and Kenya) who share my/our vision to eradicate treatable blindness in our world. I also thank my team of colleagues in Singhealth (including ICO) and SNEC who are working with me to create a Global Ophthalmology setup in Singapore so that more can be done in our region to eradicate blindness! 2019 XOVA Winning Project

Sept 2019

Heartiest congratulations to Dr Jayant Venkatramani Iyer, on receiving the 2019 eXcellence in Ophthalmology Vision Award (XOVA).

Dr Iyer’s project for The Vision Mission, Project Netra, had transformed a not-for-profit eye care institute in India, from a cataract centre helmed by a single surgeon to a secondary ophthalmic institute tackling most common eye diseases.

The eXcellence in Ophthalmology Vision Award (XOVA), sponsored by Novartis, provides funding in the form of a grant for initiatives that are expected to have a significant impact on unmet needs in the field of ophthalmology and optometry.
